I have a pretty exciting Everyday Grief update: It’s a whole book now! I want to be clear that it’s not a published book yet, but a recent, crushing deadline forced me to spend a whole lot of hours in a row organizing, editing and cutting & pasting almost all of the submissions into a complete manuscript. It was exhilarating! I loved it!
I say almost, because even though I really wanted to include all the essays and poems people sent me, I had to make the decision to keep it to one submission per writer. And there were a couple of others that, hard as I tried, I just couldn’t get them to fit into the overall tone of the book, which kind of revealed itself to me as I read and reread all the beautiful words people shared. It’s a stunning testament to the love and courage people bear each day in the face of loss. Each and every submission deserves to be heard and I am so honored that each of the writers had the heart to share their experiences. I look forward to the day when they will be shared with others, too.
Writing Groups & Classes
Currently, the Saturday AM Writing group is meeting regularly from 10-11:30am 3 Saturdays a month. If you’re interested in the Sat. AM group, click this button:
New! Last fall I held a Writing Through Grief workshop and the participants were interested in continuing. And it will—I have found a place where we will meet every other Tuesday in a lovely new gallery in Southbury, CT. It’s open to new members, too, if you’re in the area and would like to join us. More info at the link below—
If you’d like to be on the list to be notified when anything else comes up, email me and I’ll include you on the list. I don’t send out too many emails, so your inbox is relatively safe from me. :)
Other Writing Opportunities
A couple of places where I’ll be facilitating in the next few months:
Feb. 17th - Discover Your Writing Voice: A Writing Workshop with Cindy Eastman
Edith Wheeler Memorial Library- Monroe, CT
Feb. 28th - Lighten Up! program author talk
Woodbury, CT Senior Center
April 25th - We Can Write About Hard Things - zoom workshop

Five Things I’ve Learned
Here is another place that offers workshops and webinars and so much else! Brooke Warner has held workshops here and there are tons of other writers who offer their expertise, too. Many of their workshops are on demand, so you can access them at your convenience.
But not just writers…there are so many others sharing their time and knowledge. The tagline is: Essential Lessons from people we admire. Here’s the site—check it out!
Writual is one year old. I honestly didn’t think I’d keep up Silver Linings much less another writing commitment every month. And Silver Linings is almost three years old! But even if only one person takes a class, finds a resource, discovers an author, or decides to write some things down, then that’s a good thing. Don’t forget—if you need anything, let me know. I want to support your writing because it’s important. Whether you’re writing for yourself or penning the next bestseller, just keep at it. It’ll happen.
See you next month!

I am delighted to know you have put together the grief anthology manuscript. When will we know that our pieces will be included? Many thanks!
I am always so bowled over with all you do, and the outreach you give to so many! I applaud you; you are someone I would love to emulate . . . . someday!
