I support your sabbath/sabbatical whatever you call the down shift to rest, recharging and reflection. We need it. And it helps those around us. They get to exhale, explore other activities and places and people - or do nothing, too! Il dolce far niente, sister!

Without self-care we can not give, nor deliver. Get the breather you need and enjoy the summer.

I know we know it, but it's SO hard sometimes! Thank you ♥️

I am so happy to read this. As cliche as it sounds, less is more. Be the boulder!

I look like the boulder...😏

I just turned down an opportunity to co-author a book. It felt in a way counterintuitive, but one of the reasons I gave was that I want to be more present for my daughter and aging family members. The others were disappointed, but I held strong. Then within the same day I found out my father-in-law had fallen and broken his ankle, and my in-laws will need a ton of help over the next few weeks and beyond. I’m following their lead! So I get it!

It is counterintuitive to turn down writing opportunities when you're a writer, but a teacher doesn't teach ALL the students, right? We can say no sometimes :)
