From time to time, when cleaning out a closet or drawer, moving out boxes of old stuff to make room for boxes of new stuff, I’ll come across a bundle of birthday cards I kept for some reason or another.
I too save cards and have never thought of them as a shrine to my loveability. Like you maybe, I hold dear the memories and messages, and am definately a sentimental individual. Why would I throw away such treasures? I love that you dig into what is meaningful to you and that you found the original article. "Love and be loved in return" - People leave our lives, but our love does not.
Thank you, Kathy! I'll always remember my grandmother, who used to get dozens if not hundreds of cards every year on her birthday. And she always acted like it was such a surprise--why would these people send me cards?! And they always delighted her. She probably kept every single one. :)
